Sanctuaries of Healing: Guest Rooms Renovation

We're refreshing the guest rooms our sisters and clergy call home for six months during treatment, creating sanctuaries of rest and renewal.

Saint Luke Institute is a 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

A Place to Call Home

When a priest, religious sister, brother, or others in need of care arrive at Saint Luke Institute, a first step in their healing is opening the door to a room they will call home for six months.

To create a hospitable space for them, we are renovating these older guest rooms.

Especially for young priests and religious seeking to address wellness needs related to burnout, depression, isolation, or more, these rooms serve as a safe space while moving through our healing, therapeutic care program. In the quiet, where personal prayer connects with mental health and skills growth, healing can thrive.

We need your help to support renovations which include

  • removing and replacing older and worn materials and fixtures, reflecting modern design and energy efficiency
  • investing in newer furnishings (mattresses, desk chairs, curtains, etc.)
  • fresh paint, creating a warm welcome
  • new linens, toiletries, and other supplies.

Together we will create fully updated sanctuaries of healing for those who come to us seeking support and renewal in their ministries and vocations.

Thank you for your generous support! Please keep all those at SLI and those we serve in your prayers!

Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. Patrick J. McDevitt, CM, PhD

Jesus said to the crowds, “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Planned Giving

Help strengthen our mission to serve the Church for future generations through estate bequests, revocable trusts or more.

Stocks & Bonds

Gifts of long-term, appreciated stocks and bonds can provide a double benefit: donors may be eligible for both a charitable tax deduction for the value of the securities on the day of transfer, and they may not be responsible for taxes on any gains from the time the stock was acquired.

Charitable IRA Transfers

Donors aged 70-and-one-half or older can transfer a contribution each year directly from a traditional IRA account. This may satisfy a portion or all of the annual required minimum distribution (RMD) and serve as a qualified charitable distribution for your IRA, which can decrease your tax burden even if you are no longer itemizing deductions.
