A Season of Hope & Giving
As the Holy Family welcomed the light of Christ into a waiting world, we at Saint Luke Institute (SLI) carry that same light into the lives of those who serve His Church. Every priest, sister, brother, deacon, lay minister or Catholic leader who finds healing or wellness here brings renewed hope and compassion back to their communities, while touching hearts far beyond our walls.
This Christmas, your generosity can help us continue that sacred mission. At SLI, we care for the whole person: mind, body, emotions and spirit, so they can return to their ministry restored and renewed.
The need is great: Many who minister to others, especially at this busy time of year, quietly carry their own burdens of loneliness, anxiety, exhaustion, and burnout. We often receive several referrals in January from ministers who struggle with these needs through the holiday season.
Your gift sustains programs that promote psychological and spiritual wellness and education on mental health for ministry, helping our Church, and the world, heal.
Please remember us in your end-of-year gifts. We invite you to consider becoming a monthly sustaining donor so that your gift’s impact carries throughout the year.
Finally, I ask you to keep the work of our dedicated SLI staff in your prayers, along with all those who are in our care. And, as you experience the generosity of spiritual service from a sister, priest, deacon, or lay person in ministry during this holy season, take a moment to offer a word of thanks and care. It makes a big difference!
May the peace of our Savior fill your heart this Christmas and throughout the New Year. Thank you for being a light of hope and healing!
With gratitude and blessings,
Rev. Patrick McDevitt, CM, PhD

"The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for see, I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord."
— Luke 2:10-11
Other Ways to Contribute
Planned Giving
Help strengthen our mission to serve the Church for future generations through estate bequests, revocable trusts or more.
Stocks & Bonds
Gifts of long-term, appreciated stocks and bonds can provide a double benefit: donors may be eligible for both a charitable tax deduction for the value of the securities on the day of transfer, and they may not be responsible for taxes on any gains from the time the stock was acquired.
Charitable IRA Transfers
Donors aged 70-and-one-half or older can transfer a contribution each year directly from a traditional IRA account. This may satisfy a portion or all of the annual required minimum distribution (RMD) and serve as a qualified charitable distribution for your IRA, which can decrease your tax burden even if you are no longer itemizing deductions.
