The Art of Aging Gratefully: Learning from Religious Women – A Global Virtual Conference

This inaugural virtual event of the Global Institute for Mental Health (GIMH), a ministry of Saint Luke Institute, will be held on World Mental Health Day, October 10, 2026, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Eastern time. (Find the time in your time zone here.)

The virtual event will lift up the way in which Catholic sisters model, resource, and respond to the needs of aging in ways that are holistic, holy, and a proven model from which everyone in the Church can learn—religious, clergy and lay.

Part of the event will be dedicated to the formal inauguration of the Global Institute for Mental Health. The GIMH’s focus is building a coordinated, global Catholic initiative on mental health that integrates evidence-based research, clinical practice, spiritual care, and Catholic identity, while strengthening collaboration across regions and nations.

It was established as an initiative of Saint Luke Institute, in partnership with the International Association of Catholic Mental Health Ministers, DePaul University, and other stakeholders in response to initiatives by Pope Leo XIV and the U.S. bishops’ conference to highlight the role of mental health and wellness in the Church and in ministry. The Art of Aging Gratefully virtual event is being held in October to align with the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network intention for mental health ministry.
