Staff colleagues of Rev. Quinn Conners, O.Carm., Ph.D. gathered in the Saint Luke Institute (SLI) Silver Spring, Maryland office suite this week to offer heartfelt testimonials and thanks for his work serving as Interim President & CEO of SLI over the past 14 months. Fr. Conners is concluding his term as Interim President with the recent appointment of Rev. Patrick McDevitt, CM, Ph.D. as the new President & CEO of SLI.
SLI Chief Operations Officer, Marianne Durgavich, RN, also noted many accomplishments of the organization during Fr. Conners’ tenure, recognizing how his supportive guidance led to a number of important milestones, including:
- A successful initiative to secure expanded housing options among Washington, DC-area religious houses for SLI’s Clincal Evaluation and Emmaus Program clients, as well as the updated naming of the Emmaus Program itself
- SLI’s re-accreditation from The Joint Commission, expanded to include services in our Louisville, Kentucky and Greater Baltimore locations
- Enhancing follow-up with Evaluation clients and encouraging the development of a sample Emmaus Program schedule
- Renewing SLI’s commitment to its signature Conference on Human Formation in partnership with St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in Indiana, with a planned 2026 event focused on “Navigating Personality in Discernment and Formation“
- Encouraging educational outreach and events through expanded clinician presence at national conferences – as presenters, exhibitors, and consultants – as well as greater public reach through scholarly articles on mental health needs in ministry, and online through SLIconnect via a recent partner series on trauma awareness in ministry co-sponsored with the Religious Formation Conference
- Supporting giving efforts to SLI through the organization’s 2024 Benefit, upcoming 2025 Benefit and other appeals.
Durgavich added with gratitude, “Quinn has supported the clinical and administrative staff of SLI, allowing staff to provide the extraordinary care we are known for. His strong reputation as a psychologist and church leader empowered SLI staff to perform with excellence.”
Fr. Conners, a licensed clinical psychologist, will continue to serve as a clinician at the SLI Silver Spring office.
