Cardinal Pierre to Be Honored at Saint Luke Institute Benefit
September 6, 2024 – Saint Luke Institute (SLI) recently announced details about its Annual Benefit. The yearly fundraiser, now in its 27th year, will take place Monday, October 21, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the residence of the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States in Washington, D.C.
In addition to being the host for this year’s event, as he has in the past, SLI is also honoring the Nuncio, Cardinal Christophe Pierre, with its Saint Luke Award. This honor is given annually to someone whose professional life or charitable works embody the ideals of the Institute: the rebuilding of the spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual life of those in need.
In a statement, Cardinal Pierre said, “I am grateful to Saint Luke Institute for their excellent work in caring for clergy and religious in need of psychological and spiritual care. Their professional staff are truly part of the healing ministry of Christ. In all of their work, they respond to the needs of the whole person and, in so doing, foster the well-being of those they serve, and of the Church as a whole.”
The annual fundraising event brings together donors and supporters of SLI’s healing ministry and the vital support the organization gives to the men and women serving the Church. Those wishing to support the Benefit may do so by attending the event, through personal or organizational sponsorships, or by making a donation.
